Argentina vs New Zealand Prediction & Betting Tips - Rugby World Cup
by Devesh Jaganath in Rugby World Cup Predictions
The first semi-final of the 2023 Rugby World Cup will be an all-Southern Hemisphere clash as Argentina prepare to take on New Zealand on Friday evening. Twenty teams began the competition, and after six weeks of hard-hitting entertainment, just four remain. Only one of these sides will emerge victorious and will move on to face either England or the reigning champions South Africa in the grand final on Saturday, October 28, at Stade de France. Can the All Blacks claim their fourth world title, or will Los Pumas carve their name in Rugby World Cup history?

Argentina - New Zealand: Form Analysis
Argentina were drawn into a favourable Pool D but, like their opponents, suffered a setback early by losing their first match of the competition 27-10 against England. However, they bounced back in the best way possible, winning their remaining three group-stage games to secure their place in the last eight. During that time, Los Pumas overcame Samoa 19-10 and went on to overpower Chile 59-5 before pulling off a crucial 39-27 win over Japan to finish on 14 points. The South Americans went into their quarter-final against Wales as huge underdogs but delivered an almighty effort to beat the Dragons 29-17 in Marseille last week. Still, they now set their sights on the New Zealanders, who have won 33 of the last 36 meetings between these sides. Los Pumas are not just underdogs in this match but are also the biggest outsiders to go on to lift the Webb Ellis Cup, according to the bookmakers.
Meanwhile, New Zealand clinched their third successive Rugby Championship title earlier this year and are now looking to add the World Cup crown to their 2023 season. They beat this opponent fairly comfortably in the Rugby Championships by 41-12, which was their fifth win over Los Pumas in their last six meetings. Their loss to France in the tournament opener seemed to have been the turning point for Ian Foster’s side. Since then, they went on to thump Nambia 71-3, followed by a 96-17 mauling of Italy before capping off the group stage with a 73-0 victory over Uruguay. However, their undoubted best performance came in the quarter-final, when they took down the world number one Ireland 28-24 last weekend. With that, the All Blacks have all the momentum they could ask for and are strongly fancied to progress to the final.

Argentina & New Zealand Squad Analysis
Los Pumas' starting lineup for the World Cup semi-final against New Zealand on Friday sees only one change made by Michael Cheika. Gonzalo Bertranou has been selected as the scrumhalf in place of Tomas Cubelli, who is not part of the matchday-23. The team will be led by hooker Julian Montoya, while Facundo Isa will reach the milestone of 50 international caps in this one.
In the opposite dugout, Foster has opted for two changes to the side that overcame the Shamrocks last week. Mark Tele’a steps in for Leicester Fainga’anuku, and Sam Whitelock takes the place of Brodie Retallick for the All Blacks. Retallick finds a place on the bench, and Samisoni Taukei'aho replaces Dane Coles among the substitutes.

Our Argentina vs New Zealand Prediction
Many had written off the New Zealanders after losing to France in their first match, but the All Blacks have responded to their critics in some style since then. The three-time champions look destined to contest another final, and we fancy them to be too strong for Los Pumas in this one. Our Argentina vs New Zealand prediction: Handicap New Zealand -7. You
