The quarter finals saw them cause a massive surprise when defeating world champions, the USA. That win was their fifth win in six games in this tournament. Their only loss was in the second group stage when losing by two points to Australia, who they could meet in the final.

Argentina are ranked fiifth in the world, two places below their opponents. They won the first ever basketball world cup but that was 69 years ago, since then their best performance was losing in the 2002 final to Yugoslavia. They have won all of their matches in this tournament and defeated Serbia by ten points in the quarter finals. France caused that big shock in the last eight and will look to Rudy Gobert to again cause problems aplenty. The tip here is for a narrow French victory.
