Anna Bondar vs Tatjana María Prediction & Betting Tips - WTA Bogota

Hungary's Anna Bondar will face Germany's Tatjana Maria once again this week, this time in the first round of the WTA Bogota 250 tournament. The match comes just days after Maria, the Number 2 seed in this event and current Champion, lost to Bondar in the first round of the San Luis Potosi Open (0-6, 7-6 (3), 7-5).  It was hardly the ideal start to the clay court season for the veteran German, who is a two-time winner of this tournament having won it in both the last two years. It means that Maria has failed to get past the second round of any tournament she has competed in during 2024 so far and she has suffered a number of one-sided losses in a number of games this year. However, she has performed exceptionally well in this event in the past two years and if any event is primed for her to get back on track, it is this one. She has won seven of her 10 matches so far this season (a 41% success rate).

However, she will have to beat Anna Bondar to do that and Bondar received a massive boost to her hopes when defeating Maria last week in that San Luis Potosi Open event. Bondar showed a little rust in the opening set, losing it 6-0, but she bounced back to win the next two very tight sets to claim the win and give herself a real chance of dethroning the current champion. Confidence will be high after winning the W75 Porto back at the end of February, but this tournament is a significant step up in quality from that event. Bondar's case is strengthened by the fact both her wins over Maria have come on clay and are the two most recent matches of the three played by the two women. She has won 12 of her 22 matches this season (a 55% success rate).
