Anhelina Kalinina vs Jelena Ostapenko Prediction & Betting Tips - WTA Finals

Eighth seed Jelena Ostapenko and the unseeded Anhelina Kalinina are set to square off next at the 2024 Qatar Open. They will battle in the second round with the winner next playing either Victoria Azarenka, Magdalena Frech, Beatriz Haddad Maia, or Wang Xinyu. Anhelina Kalinina defeated Emma Raducanu in straight sets in the first round. Her second win of the season was a dominant one as she breezed past the first set 6-0. Raducanu put up much more of a fight in the second set which was ultimately decided by a tiebreaker. Kalinina had lost her first three matches to begin the season but has now won two of her last three. This is her first time playing in the main draw here. In her first two appearances, she had failed to get past the qualifying rounds. The Ukrainian is currently up one place to 29th in the live ranking.

Jelena Ostapenko has moved right back into the WTA top 10. She started the week ranked ninth in the world. The former world number five is having a tremendous start to the year and has so far compiled a 13-2 record. She has won two titles already, Adelaide and Linz, and has made at least the quarterfinals in all but one of four events. The Latvian, who has had some deep runs in Doha, will be confident of another title triumph. She is a former finalist and semifinalist though last season was eliminated in this very round. Ostapenko has won all three times in which she has gone up against Kalinina. They last squared off two seasons ago in Toronto.
