Anhelina Kalinina vs Diane Parry Prediction & Betting Tips - ATX Open

Top seed Anhelina Kalinina of the Ukraine has moved serenely through the first two rounds of the ATX Open in Austin. A 6-3, 6-2 win over Czech qualifier Sara Bejlek was followed by an even more impressive 6-1, 6-2 victory over Maria Camillo Osorio-Serrano in the second round. Her reward is a place in the quarter finals against Diane Parry, the fifth seed, who also won both her games so far in straight sets. She beat compatriot Jessika Ponchet in the first round 6-3, 7-6(4), and then made light work of Kamilla Rahkimova earning a 6-3, 6-3 win over the experienced Russian. Following those performances Kalinina is now ranked 33rd in the live WTA Rankings, with her opponent Parry ranked 59th. Kalinina has won 55% of her games on hard courts, with Parry winning 46% on the same surface.

Interestingly, the two players have met three times previously, but all those games have come on clay. Kalinina holds a 2-1 record over Parry in those games, both her victories coming in lesser W60 events in Zagreb and Montpellier in the spring of 2021. Parry won the last game between the two on a much bigger stage at the French Open in 2023 with a resounding first round 6-2, 6-3 victory in front of her home fans. Parry also has the better record in the year to date, winning 8 of her 12 games since the year began, including reaching the third round of the Australian Open on hard courts. Prior to this tournament and her two wins, Kalinina had won just two matches this season, defeating Lucia Bronzetti in the Abu Dhabi Open first round 6-1, 7-6 (1) and then beating Emma Raducanu 6-0, 7-6(6) in the first round of the QatarTotalEnergies Open in Doha a couple of weeks back.
