It's been an unexpected run to the last eight of the hard court Transylvania Open for Aliaksandra Sasnovich. The Russian lost in the qualifying rounds and was reinstated as a lucky loser. Now she faces fourth seed Anhelina Kalinina for a place in the last four. Here's our match prediction.

Sasnovich lost in the second qualifying round to Sara Sorribes Tormo but then put back into the main draw. Wins have come against sixth-seeded Jessica Bouzas Maneiro and qualifier Maria Stakusic without dropping a set.

This is her first time past the second round of a tournament this year and the 30-year-old is now 119th in the live rankings, 90 places below her career-high.

World number 49 Anhelina Kalinina is hoping to make it into her second semi-final of the year. A last four appearance has already been made in Brisbane but that was followed by two first round exits in the Australian Open and Linz.

The 27-year-old has returned to form this week with victories over Elena-Gabriela Ruse and Suzan Lemens. Three sets were needed to beat Lemens after Kalinina only won one game in the first set. Her one previous match against Sasnovich was won but that was on clay.
