It's not often a player ranked outside the top 100 gets to a Wimbledon final but that’s what has happened this year. Of Course, Serena Williams isn’t your average lowly ranked player and she was given a protected seeding of 25th for this tournament after her absence from the tour. What is even more rare is the fact that there isn’t a top ten seed in this final but it’s been a year when there’s been upset after upset. Serena Williams hasn’t had to face a top ten seed throughout the tournament and that’s helped her ease her way into what is only her fourth tour event since her comeback. The massive serve is still there and she has every chance of winning this tournament to give her nine Wimbledon Ladies Singles titles and equal Margaret Court’s record of 24 Grand Slam titles.

Angelique Kerber is the 11th seed and the highest one left in the tournament. She had a rough year in 2017 but has returned to form this year with a semi-final in Australia followed by a last eight appearance in France and now this Wimbledon final. It’s her second final here in three years, the other seeing her lose to Williams in straight sets, so she’ll be out for revenge. Kerber has been playing well throughout and will make her opponent work all the way without giving away to many unforced errors. It’s a tough match to call but the best bet is to go for over 21.5 games with this looking likely to go to three sets.
