Anett Kontaveit vs Ons Jabeur Prediction & Betting Tips - WTA Indian Wells

Seed after seed has been knocked out of the Indian Wells tournament. Ons Jabeur is seeded 11th and that makes her the second highest remaining seed. The Tunisian takes on 18th seeded Anett Kontaveit in the quarter finals. Jabeur is the world number 14 but up to ninth in the live rankings. She's eighth in the live WTA race, so has a good chance of making it to the Tour Finals. The year began with her ranked 31st and so far in 2021, Jabeur has won one title, a grass court event held in Birmingham in June. Jabeur reached the recent Chicago Fall Classic final, losing to Garbine Muguruza. This week has seen her defeat Anastasija Sevastova (in three sets), 22nd seed Danielle Collins and qualifier Anna Kalinskaya. Jabeur has beaten Kontaveit in two of their three previous meetings. Kontaveit won a match in 2014, Jabeur has won the next two, the most recent being a three set win in Cincinatti this year.

Anett Kontaveit is the world number 20 but was down at 31st in May. The Estonian is bidding to win her third title of the year. Successes have already come in Cleveland and Ostrava. Kontaveit also reached the final of the Grampians Trophy in Australia but that match was never played. The recent win in Ostrava was an impressive one with wins over Paula Badosa, Petra Kvitova, Belinda Bencic and Maria Sakkari. Her road to this quarter final has seen her beat Martina Trevisan, defending champion 16th seeded Bianca Andreescu and lucky loser Beatriz Haddad Maia without dropping a set. Not the hardest of routes and Jabeur looks in the better form.
