Andy Murray vs Dušan Lajović Prediction & Betting Tips - ATP Miami
by Devesh Jaganath | in Tennis Predictions
The Miami Open is set to get underway this week, and it’s going to be an exciting opening round with Andy Murray drawn against Dusan Lajovic set to take place on Wednesday evening. After a difficult start to the season, Murray has steadily improved and looks to be playing the sort of tennis that we’ve become accustomed to seeing from the veteran. Following his break after the Australian Open, Murray returned to the court in Doha and put on an excellent display to reach the finals, where he was eventually beaten by an in-form Daniil Medvedev (6-4, 6-4). At Indian wells earlier this month, Murray overcame Tomas Etcheverry and Radu Albot before losing to his fellow countryman Jack Draper in the round of 32. With a record of 8-4 for the year, Murray will come into this tournament in relatively good spirits but will know that he faces a tough opponent in Lajovic, who will make him work for every point in this one.
Meanwhile, Dusan Lajovic, who is currently ranked 76th in the world, is yet to find his best form this year. Notably, he’s struggled on the hardcourts, bowing out in the first round of the three tournaments he’s participated in, including in Adelaide, the Australian Open, and last week at Indian Wells. To date, Lajovic’s best finishes were quarter-final appearances in Buenos Aires and Rio, where on both occasions, he was knocked out by the current world number two, Carlos Alcaraz. Lajovic has an overall record this year of 9-7, but his record on hard courts currently reads 0-3. The Serbian will have his work cut out for him against the wily veteran and will need to find some rhythm on this surface quickly if he intends to progress.
