Andrey Rublev vs Stefanos Tsitsipas Prediction & Betting Tips - ATP Mutua Madrid Open
by Steve Ashfield | in Tennis Predictions
Seven of the top eight seeds have made it through to the Madrid Masters quarter finals. Fourth seeded Stefanos Tsitsipas take on sixth seed Andrey Rublev with the winner facing either Alexander Zverev or Felix Auger-Aliassime. Tsitsipas is bidding to win his second clay court Masters event of the year after success in Monte Carlo. He reached the final here in 2019 and in the past two French Opens has got to the semi-final and final. He has again been in top form during this tournament. Both of his matches against Lucas Pouille and Grigor Dimitrov have been won in straight sets. He's played Rublev on eight previous occasions and they are tied at 4-4. The Greek has won his last two against Rublev on clay, including the 2021 Monte Carlo Masters.
Sixth seeded Andrey Rublev has already won three ATP Tour titles this year. He had success in Marseille and Dubai and then won the clay court tournament held in Belgrade. He beat Novak Djokovic to win the Belgrade title. He has only played in this tournament on one previous occasion. That was last year when losing in the third round to John Isner in three sets. Rublev hasn't been making many friends in Great Britain this week. He's had two wins and both were against British players. He had a few problems against Jack Draper in round two, having to come from a set down. It was a bit smoother in the third round as he beat Dan Evans in straight sets. Tsitsipas looks in the better form and can get the win here.
