Fourth seed Andrey Rublev faces unseeded Pablo Carreno Busta for a place in round two of the hard court China Open. For the winner, there's a match against either Zhizhen Zhang or Alejandro Davidovich Fokina. Read our match prediction below.

Rublev is at sixth in the latest rankings and a place lower in the Live ATP Race. He will want to keep piling up the ranking points to book his place in the end-of-season ATP Tour Finals.

The Russian is playing his first tournament since reaching the last 16 of the US Open, losing to Grigor Dimitrov. After a dip in form during the early part of the summer, Rublev made it to the final of the Montreal hard court event.

That included a win over the world number one Jannik Sinner. Rublev has won one hard court tournament this year. That was in Hong Kong eight months ago.

Pablo Carreno Busta is the world number 202 and was given a place in the main draw via his protected ranking. The Spaniard had elbow surgery last year and didn't make his return until this year's French Open in June.

Busta struggled at first in his comeback with only two out of seven matches being won. He has shown some improved form though and got to the last four in Winston Salem. The highest ranked player beaten that week was in 60th position.

He then lost in round one of the US Open winning only five games in three sets against Arthur Cazaux. He's played two hard court Davis Cup matches since, winning one and losing the other.
