Andrey Rublev vs Jiri Lehecka Prediction & Betting Tips - ATP Indian Wells
by Devesh Jaganath | in Tennis Predictions
The second round of the BNP Paribas Open at Indian Wells is set to commence on Friday, and in our featured match, we will see Andrey Rublev and Jiri Lehecka clash for the third time in their careers in what should be an entertaining matchup. This will be Rublev’s first match of the tournament, thanks to a first-round bye, and the Russian will be hoping that he can go one better in this tournament than his last. Rublev made it to the final of his last tournament in Dubai, beating the likes of Alejandro Fokina and Alexander Zverev en route to the final against Daniil Medvedev, where he came up short, losing in straight sets. The world number seven also made it to the quarter-final of the Australian Open in January, where he lost to Novak Djokovic, though he did put on a good display forcing the match to three sets. Rublev has a record of 9-6 for the year and will be set on earning his first piece of silverware for the year in this one.
Meanwhile, Jiri Lehecka comes into this match off the back of a hard-fought match against Arthur Rinderknech, which he managed to win (7-6, 7-5) after saving two set points. The Czech smashed an impressive 31 winners and only conceded 24 unforced errors in that match and looked in a good rhythm for the most part. Lehecka’s best performance this year came in Doha, where he overcame this opponent (4-6, 6-3, 6-4) in the quarter-final before bowing out to Andy Murry in the next round. Unfortunately, he could not follow up with that form in Dubai a week later but seems to have rekindled his spark in this tournament. With a record of 12–5, Lehecka will be confident that he can cause the superior-ranked Russian a few problems again in this one.

One could genuinely make a strong argument for either of these players to win this match, which makes choosing a winner that much trickier. We expect this to be a close match that will go the distance. Therefore, our Rublev v Lehecka prediction is for the match to go to three sets.
