Fifth seed Andrey Rublev takes on qualifier Jan-Lennard Struff in the Monte Carlo Masters quarter finals. The winner could face defending champion Stefanos Tsitsipas in the last four. Rublev remains sixth in the live world rankings with a big gap to the top five. He's up to 11th in the ATP Race and reaching the semi-finals will see him rise to tenth. This is his fourth quarter final of the year but so far only in Dubai (where he lost in the final) has the Russian got past this stage. This is his first clay court tournament of the year and only his second quarter final appearance in Monte Carlo. That was achieved in 2021 when he lost to Stefanos Tsitsipas in the final. To reach this quarter final, Rublev has beaten Jaume Munar (after dropping the first set) and then ninth seeded Karen Khachanov in straight sets. There have been six previous meetings between the pair with the score level at 3-3. Struff leads 2-1 on clay, including beating Rublev in last season's French Open.

Jan-Lennard Struff has been the surprise of this Monte Carlo Masters. He began the tournament ranked 100th but is up to 64th in the live rankings. Reaching the last four can see hiim rise to 42nd and he can start dreaming of being seeded at Roland Garros. The German had to win two qualifying matches to reach the main draw, needing three sets to get past Emil Russuvouri in the final qualifier. Since then, he's had wins over Albert Ramos Vinolas, 14th seeded Alex de Minaur and then the fourth seed Casper Ruud. This is his first time past the third round in Monte Carlo but it's Rublev who we tip to get the win.
