Andrey Rublev vs Cameron Norrie Prediction & Betting Tips - ATP Indian Wells
by Kennedy Kechula in Tennis Predictions
The second week of competition at the 2023 Indian Wells Open is here, and one of the matches to usher in round four will see sixth seed Andrey Rublev and 10th seed Cameron Norrie face off. Andrey Rublev took a while to get going in 2023. He started his season with four losses from his opening eight matches with his four wins all coming in Melbourne where he made it to the quarterfinals before being eliminated in straight sets by eventual champion Novak Djokovic. His inconsistent start saw him fall out of the world’s top five but he has since started going back up again the ATP rankings thanks to making the final in Dubai as well as his emphatic start in California. The Russian number two lost in straight sets to compatriot Daniil Medvedev in Dubai and that seems to have done him a world of good as he is yet to drop a set in his two matches at Indian Wells. He beat unseeded players Jiri Lehecka and Ugo Humbert in straight sets. He was pushed by Humbert to seven games in the first set of their match. He made it all the way to the semifinals in last year’s tournament and will be hoping to at the very least, better that.
Cameron Norrie is a former champion here (2021) and will fancy his chances for another title after a superb start to the season. The Brit number one arrived at Indian Wells having made the final in his previous two tournaments (Rio and Buenos Aires). He won it all in Brazil after staging a comeback against world number two Carlos Alcaraz. Norrie has however looked a bit shaky in California and was taken the distance by the qualifier Taro Daniel in the third round, coming back from a set down to win 6-7, 7-5, 6-2. Rublev has won two of the previous three matches between the two with the latest being a straight-sets victory at the 2022 US Open. The winner here will advance to the quarterfinals where a battle with either 14th seed Frances Tiafoe or the qualifier Alejandro Tabilo awaits.

Our Andrey Rublev vs Cameron Norrie Prediction
Andrey Rublev is slowly coming to the level that is synonymous with him after a slow start to the season. Cameron Norrie on the other hand has been consistent all through the year and has already tasted title success. He is playing at a considerably higher level and we feel that Rublev will find it hard to pin him. We predict that Andrey Rublev v Cameron Norrie will be a win for Norrie in three sets.
