Andrey Rublev vs Alexander Bublik Prediction & Betting Tips - ATP Halle Open

The 2023 Halle Open final will be contested by third seed Andrey Rublev and the unseeded Alexander Bublik on Sunday. Bublik defeated ninth-seed Alexander Zverev in the semifinals while Rublev overcame the challenge of eighth-seed Roberto Bautista Agut. Rublev is now through to his fourth tour final of the year and the 21st of his career. He will hope to add to his 13 titles by winning his first trophy on grass. The Russian has been in excellent form in 2023 and has won 31 of the 43 matches he has played. Four of those victories were on grass. He is yet to lose a match on grass and has won two of his four matches in Halle without dropping a set. Having defeated Bublik in three of their four encounters, Rublev will be confident going into this one. A win here will not improve the world number seven’s ranking. However, it will move him up to fifth in the live race. Rublev is a former finalist here.

Alexander Bublik’s only win over Rublev came in their first encounter back in 2016 in qualifying in Moscow. So much has changed since then but the Kazakh will hope for a repeat of that now. Bublik has had a torrid time whenever he has played a final at the top level. He has played in seven finals so far and managed only one win. Two of those final defeats have been on grass. This is his first final of the season and having enjoyed his grass-court campaign so far, he will fancy his chances of winning. Bublik has won five of the six matches he has played on grass with three of his wins here coming via straight sets. The last was against two-time Halle Open finalist Alexander Zverev. Despite his form on grass, Bublik is still on a losing record. He has lost 19 of the 35 matches he has played. Advancing to the final has catapulted him up 15 places to number 33 in the live ranking. A win on Sunday will see him move up a further seven places and set a new career high in the process.
