Andrey Rublev defeated the qualifier Nikoloz Basilashvili in the quarter-finals. He was ahead in the first set 5-2 before Basilashvili forfeited due to injury.
Yet to lose a set this week, Rublev will have ample title to prepare for his match with Kovacevic. The world number 10 has compiled a 2-2 record this season. He arrived in Montpellier having lost his opening two matches of the campaign.
Aleksandar Kovacevic has qualified for a tour semi-final for only the second time in his career. He now hopes to make it to his maiden final and possibly end the week as a tour champion.
