Eighth seed Ana Bogdan and the unseeded Karolina Pliskova will battle each other in the final of the Transylvania Open. Their fourth encounter will also be their first at a tour final. Ana Bogdan will be seeking her first tour title here. The Romanian has played in only one other tour final in her career. This was two seasons ago in Poland where she finished as runner-up. She will hope playing in the final of her home tournament will inspire her to secure the win. Bogdan defeated Jaqueline Cristian in three sets in the semifinals. This was her sixth win in 10 outings so far this year with four of those coming on indoor hard courts. Currently ranked 65th in the live ranking, a win here can propel Bogdan up to 56th in the WTA.

Karolina Pliskova has won all three previous meetings with Bogdan. This coupled with her tour finals experience should have her confident of a win here. The Czech former world number one is a 16-time tour champion and has played in more than 30 finals in her long career. This however is her first tour final since 2021 and she will be seeking her first tour success since 2020. Pliskova has been in absolutely sublime form in Cluj and has won all four of her matches without dropping a set. She defeated the qualifier Harriet Dart by the loss of six games in the semifinals. Before arriving in Cluj, the 31-year-old had managed just one win in four outings. She has now compiled a 5-3 record and is ranked 78th in the live ranking.
