There's an all-American semi-final in the bottom half of the Charleston Open draw. Eighth-seed Amanda Anisimova faces unseeded Sofia Kenin for a place in the final of this outdoor clay court tournament. Here's our match prediction.

For the winner, their opponent in the title decider will be either top seed Jessica Pegula or unseeded Ekaterina Alexandrova. Amanda Anisimova was 16th in the last ranking list but can climb to 14th if beating Kenin.

The quarter-finals saw her defeat the fourth seed Emma Navarro in straight sets, though 25 games had to be played. That was her third win of the week and the 23-year-old is yet to drop a set.

There have been two previous meetings between Anisimova and Kenin. They are 1-1  and Aniisimova won the only match played on clay but both meetings took place eight years ago.

Sofia Kenin has been in great form in Charleston this week. The world number 44 has beaten three seeds on her way to this semi-final. Wins have come against 17th seeded Belinda Bencic (only losing three games), the fifth seed Daria Kasatkina and in the last eight, 14th-seeded Anna Kalinskaya with no sets lost..

Kenin was the French Open runner-up in 2020 but that remains the only clay court final she has ever played.
