Aliaksandra Sasnovich vs Coco Gauff Prediction & Betting Tips - WTA Dubai Tennis Championships

The second round of the 2023 WTA Dubai Open will have fifth seed Cori Gauff and world number 43 Aliaksandra Sasnovich go head-to-head in one of the matches. Sasnovich battled from a set down to defeat the qualifier Rebeka Masarova 2-1 in the first round. It was only her third win of the season, coming at her sixth tournament in the year. The Belarussian started 2023 by losing in the first round at both Adelaide tournaments and won her first match of the year in the first round at the Australian Open, beating the qualifier Brenda Fruhvirtova in straight sets. After falling in the second round to Jessica Pegula, Sasnovich qualified for Abu Dhabi but there too she lost in the first round. Sasnovich hasn’t yet progressed past the second round in Dubai in her three appearances here. She is currently in 44th place in the live rankings and can move up to 42nd with a win over Gauff.

Cori Gauff comes to Dubai after winning the Doubles final in Doha with partner Jessica Pegula and she also reached the quarterfinals in the Singles at the 250 tournament. She has started the season in fine form and has already bagged one title (Auckland). Cori started the year ranked seventh in the world but has now moved up to sixth in the live rankings and she will be keen to add to the points gained in Doha. The American has suffered just two losses in 2023 and should be the favourite to advance ahead of Sasnovich. She will have unwanted memories of Dubai after she was eliminated here in the first round in 2022. These two players have never met each other before in a competitive match. The winner here will advance to the third round to face off with either ninth-seed Elena Rybakina or the unseeded Marie Bouzkova
