Alexei Popyrin vs Sebastian Korda Prediction & Betting Tips - ATP National Bank Open

There'll be an unseeded player in the final of the Rogers Cup in Montreal. Alexei Popyrin takes on Sebastian Korda for a place in the title decider. The winner will face either Andrey Rublev or Matteo Arnaldi. Here's our match prediction.

It's been a massive week for Alexi Popyrin who is now playing in his second ATP Tour semi-final of 2024. The Australian also got to the last four in Doha six months ago. He lost that semi-final but will be hoping to beat Korda and reach the Montreal final.

This week has seen him defeat Tomas Machac, the 11th seeded Ben Shelton and then in-form Grigor Dimitrov. The latter was won after Popyrin lost the first set. That took him into a quarter-final against the fourth seed Hubert Hurkacz.

Again he lost the first set but made a great comeback to win 7-5 in the third set.. He's played Korda twice before and lost both of the matches. His run to this semi-final has taken him up to 40th in the live rankings and can move up to 30th if winning this match.

Sebastian Korda's excellent form has continued in Montreal. The American won the hard court tournament held in Washington last week and is now in the semi-finals of the Rogers Cup. It's been a strange week for Korda whose first round match was a very short-lived one.

Vasek Pospisil retired after just three games to give Korda the win. In round two he beat the ninth seed Taylor Fritz in straight sets. That set up a match against the sixth seed Casper Ruud but he withdrew from the tournament.

Another seed was beaten on Sunday when he knocked out the second-seeded Alexander Zverev.  The first set was won on a tie-break but he then lost the second 6-1. Korda rediscovered his form to win the final set for the loss of four games. We tip Korda to win this match.
