As with other tennis tournaments taking place at present, the Hong Kong Tennis Open has produced plenty of shocks. No seeded players have reached the semi-finals and here we see Jaume Munar face Alexandre Muller. Here's our match prediction.

The winner of this match will be up against either Kei Nishioka or Juncheng Shang in the final of this outdoor hard court event. Alexandre Muller is up to 61st in the live rankings  He had a disappointing end to 2024 with three successive straight sets defeats, all on hard courts. 

This is the first time since September that he's won two successive matches in an ATP Tour event. Wins have come against Marc-Andrea Husler. Miomir Kecmanovic and fourth seed Arthur Fils. In each match he's lost the first set.

Jaume Munar is just a place above his opponent in the live list. This is his first tournament since having to retire against Corentin Moutet in the Paris Masters in October. He'd been struggling for form before that. He only won six hard court matches last year.

He's returned to form in Hong Kong with victories over Alejandro Davidovich Fokina (after dropping the first set), Nuno Borges and second seed Lorenzo Musetti in three sets. We go for Munar to win this match.
