Alexander Zverev vs Yoshihito Nishioka Prediction & Betting Tips - ATP Los Cabos Open
by Daniel Ngulu | in Tennis Predictions
Top seed Alexander Zverev begins his Los Cabos Open campaign with a second-round showdown against unseeded Yoshihito Nishioka. The winner will then proceed to play either Thanasi Kokkinakis or Daniel Evans in the quarterfinals. Zverev is making his tour return after an almost month-long break. The German, who has compiled a 9-2 record so far, last took to the court in Melbourne where he produced a semifinal finish. It was his best result in the major in four seasons. He will seek another deep run here and possibly win his 22nd tour title. The current world number six will be almost certain of a winning start in this event as he has never lost to Nishioka. He has defeated Nishioka both times they have met with the most recent encounter coming last August.
Yoshihito Nishioka has made a strong start to his return to this tournament after a six-year hiatus. The Japanese number two dominated his first-round tie with the qualifier Flavio Cobolli and allowed the Italian just one game. This was his fourth win in six outings this year and the first on hard courts. Nishioka, who is now up to 81st in the live ranking, had lost both matches he played on hard courts and hopes to do better here. The 28-year-old lost in the first round at the Delray Beach Open before arriving in Los Cabos. Two of his wins have come on clay and one on an indoor hard court.
