Alexander Zverev vs Nicolás Jarry Prediction & Betting Tips - ATP Halle Open

World number 22, Alexander Zverev, will take on Nicolas Jarry, ranked just four places below him, in the quarter-final of the 2023 Halle Open on Friday. They have met four times in the past, all on clay, and share the record two wins each. The winner of this match will face either Jannik Sinner or Alexander Bublik in the semi-final. After missing the grass swing last season, Zverev has slotted right back into the groove as he made light work of Dominic Thiem in the opening round of the tournament. He then faced Denis Shapovalov in round two and ultimately overpowered the Canadian, romping to a straight-set win in 75 minutes. He did not drop a single service game and only lost a total of seven games in the match. He’s maintained a positive record this year of 23-15, but he will know that grass has never been his best surface. Zverev has only ever reached two finals on the surface, both here in Halle, and he will be hoping that he can put in another solid run here with Wimbledon just around the corner. 

Meanwhile, Nicolas Jarry will have the wind beneath his sails coming into this one as he overcame the second-seeded Stefanos Tsitsipas in straight sets in the previous round. That followed a fairly straightforward win over Corentin Moutet in the opening round, bringing his record to 27-10 for the year. Against Tsitsipas, Jarry saved one break point but failed to capitalise on three. He managed to weather the storm and eventually got the better of the Greek in a shade under two hours. While he will be full of confidence following that win, the grass has never been his (or Tsitsipas’) best surface, and he will need to be even better in this one against a very different type of opponent in Zverev.
