Alexander Zverev vs Lloyd Harris Prediction & Betting Tips - ATP French Open
by Daniel Ngulu in Tennis Predictions
World number 294 Lloyd Harris and 22nd seed Alexander Zverev will meet in the first round of the French Open on Tuesday. Going into this game Zverev has dropped 39 places to 66th in the live ranking. This is the lowest he has been ranked since 2016. Zverev reached the semifinals here last season and will be out to protect the points won then to avoid dropping further down. The German has played back-to-back semifinals at Roland Garros so will be confident of a sustained stay here. This should help him get his season back on track. Lack of consistency has been Zverev’s highlight and currently has a record of 15 wins and 13 losses. Eight of his wins have come on clay. He has played in two semi finals so far in Dubai and Geneva, the latter being his last tournament before arriving at Roland Garros. Zverev has defeated Harris in all three meetings before but this will be their first clash on clay.
Lloyd Harris is using a protected ranking as he continues with his rehabilitation following a lengthy spell out with injury. The South African returned to the court in January after more than six months out. He has alternated between the Challenger and ATP tour circuits and has won 13 of the 21 matches he has played. Lloyd is preparing for his sixth appearance at Roland Garros. He has never gone past the second round though, and last season was eliminated in the opening round. Harris made his season debut on clay in Lyon where he lost in the first round as a qualifier. His highlight of the season remains the rise to the final of the Nonthaburi Challenger in January. A second-round showdown with either unseeded Alex Molcan or the wildcard Hugo Gaston awaits the winner here.
