Alexander Zverev vs Karen Khachanov Prediction & Betting Tips - ATP Cincinnati Open

Third seed Alexander Zverev takes on unseeded Karen Khachanov in round two of the Cincinnati Masters. The German received a bye into the second round of this hard court tournament. Here's our match prediction.

World number four Zverev is third in the ATP Live Race and last week reached the last eight in Montreal. He lost to Sebastian Korda in three sets and the wait for his 50th win of the year continues. The German will hope it comes in this match against Khachanov.

He's had a highly consistent 2024 but has only won one singles tournament. That came in the clay court Rome Masters, though he was also part of the German side that won the United Cup hard court tournament in January.

Six of his last seven tournaments on all surfaces have seen him make it to at least the quarter-finals. On hard courts, Zverev has reached three semi-finals and made two other last eight appearances. Against Khachanov he leads the Russian 4-2.

Of those six previous matches, five have been played on hard courts and Zverev has won three of them. Their most recent match was in the Miami hard court tournament this year with Zverev winning in straight sets.

Karen Khachanov last beat Zverev in 2019. He is the world number 22 and a couple of places lower in the ATP Live Race. His form at present is not great though with three of his last four matches ending in defeat. 

His most recent loss came in Montreal when being beaten by Matteo Arnaldi in the second round. He hasn't reached a quarter-final since April and that was on clay. The first round of this tournament saw him beat Francisco Cerundolo in straight sets. We tip Zverev to win this 2-0.
