Alexander Zverev vs Jordan Thompson Prediction & Betting Tips - ATP Los Cabos Open

Top seed Alexander Zverev and eighth seed Jordan Thompson will meet in the semifinals at the Los Cabos Open. Zverev is through to his second successive semifinal of the season and will hope he fares better than he did in Melbourne. The German was kept waiting for a second finals appearance at a major after a nail-biting five-set battle with Daniil Medvedev. He took that loss in stride and has been in excellent form in his debut here. The world number six has won both his fixtures without dropping a set and has lost a combined total of 10 games. The majority of this, seven, came in his quarterfinal showdown with Thanasi Kokkinakis. Zverev, a 21-time tour champion, has won 11 of 13 matches so far this season. He defeated Thompson in three sets the first time they met back in 2017.

Jordan Thompson is also through to his second tour semifinal of the year. The Australian, who is having a superb start to the season, finished amongst the last four in Brisbane. He will hope that this isn’t the case again as he tries to earn only his third tour final appearance. Thompson is in his third appearance in Los Cabos and before this year, had never gone past the quarterfinals. He defeated American Alex Michelsen in three sets to set a new personal record here. The match lasted for two hours and 37 minutes and saw the 29-year-old come back from losing the first set 6-0. His run in this event has propelled him up four places to 36th in the live ranking, a new career high. Thompson, who has compiled an 11-5 record, defeated Zverev the last time they met. This was last October in Tokyo. The winner of this third career meeting between the two will play either Stefanos Tistsipas or Casper Ruud in the final.
