Alexander Zverev vs Jeremy Chardy Prediction & Betting Tips - Olympic Tournament

Fourth seeded Alexander Zverev takes on unseeded Jeremy Chardy in the last eight of the Tokyo Olympics. The winner is likely to take on top seeded Novak Djokovic in the semi-final, unless Kei Nishikori causes a massive upset in their quarter final on Thursday. Zverev is the world number five and this is his first Olympic Games. He's had a fairly straightforward route to the last eight and is yet to lose a set. The first two rounds saw him beat Lu Yen-hsun and Daniel Elahi Galan for the loss of only eight games. It was a bit tougher in the last sixteen as he beat Nikoloz Basilashvili 6-4 7-6. He's played Chardy on five previous occasions and has a 4-1 lead. He lost their first meeting in 2015 but has won every match since, the most recent win being in China two years ago.

Jeremy Chardy is the world number 68 and has been one of the surprise packages this week. The Frenchman hasn't been in good form for a while with only two of his last eight matches being won before this tournament. His only two tournaments of note this year have been in Melbourne where he reached the semi-final and a quarter final in Dubai four months ago. He's found his form this week though with wins over Tomas Barrios, 11th seeded Aslan Karatsev and Liam Broady, the last two both going to a third set. This looks a step too far though and you should back Zverev to beat him in straight sets.
