Alexander Zverev vs Jannik Sinner Prediction & Betting Tips - ATP US Open
by Joseph King | in Tennis Predictions
The 2023 US Open fourth round sees a mouthwatering matchup between sixth-seed Jannik Sinner and 12th-seeded Alexander Zverev. The winner of this clash will advance to the quarter-final and a likely meeting with world number one Carlos Alcaraz. Sinner is coming off a 3-1 win over Stan Wawrinka in the previous round and had previously discarded Sonego and Hanfmann in the earlier rounds. The Italian looks poised to make another deep run after recently being crowned champion of the National Bank Open in mid August. Just prior to his triumph in Toronto, Sinner made it to the semi-final of Wimbledon. This means that the 22-year-old has managed a record of 13 wins and only two defeats over his last four events. Sinner is enjoying his highest ever career ranking at sixth-place as he continues what has been a very strong 2023. This year has seen the talented young pro win 46 of his 60 matches (76.7%) across all surfaces.
Sascha Zverev is having a fine tournament with wins over 50th-ranked Vukic, 53rd-ranked Altmaier and a recent win over 19th-ranked Grigor Dimitrov. The German battled back after losing the first set to sweep the next three in a row and secure a 3-1 match victory in his last outing. Zverev appears to really be picking up steam in the second half of the year as he’s now rattled off an impressive 13 wins from his last 15. The 26-year-old was crowned champion of the Hamburg Open and was able to follow that up with a run to the semi-final of the National Bank Open just two weeks later. Zverev missed the Australian Open this year but made a strong run to the semis of Roland Garros. After a third-round finish at Wimbledon, Sascha will be hoping to close out the Grand Slam season on a high by emulating his 2020 run to the final at Flushing Meadows.

Our Alexander Zverev vs Jannik Sinner Prediction
This looks set to be an evenly matched contest between two players in fine form. Zverev has certainly given Sinner problems in the past and has now won his last three encounters against the Italian. While Sinner is having a fantastic year overall, Sascha is looking very sharp in his own right. The German is looking more and more like the player that was ranked as high as number two in the world in 2022. At this price, it’s difficult to pass up on the clear value presented by backing the underdog here. Our Jannik Sinner vs Alexander Zverev prediction is for Zverev on the +1.5 set handicap.
