The scheduled third match on the final day of the Laver Cup sees Europe’s Alexander Zverev face Team World’s Frances Tiafoe. Here’s our match prediction.

After the first two days of this annual international challenge, Team World led 8-4 and need to get to 13 to win. Before this singles match, there are doubles and singles to be played. Two wins for Team World will have given them the cup for the third successive year.

Alexander Zverev has so far played two matches and lost them both. He teamed up with Carlos Alcaraz on Friday but lost to the team of Taylor Fritz and Ben Shelton. Saturday saw him beaten by Taylor Fritz..

Zverev is playing in the Laver Cup for the fifth time. Before yesterday’s loss, he’d only lost one out of seven singles matches.

Frances Tiafoe had a big win over Daniil Medvedev yesterday. The American came from a set down to win in three. The final set was decided by the first player to win ten points as seen in doubles matches.

This will be his second match of the day as he’s also due to play in the opening doubles match on Sunday. He’s in good form at present with at least the quarter-final reached in three of his last four tournaments.

He has a 3-3 singles record in the Laver Cup but has won the last three he’s played. His record against Zverev is a poor one. He’s lost the last five matches they’ve played and tails 7-1 overall. His only win over the German came seven years ago.
