Alexander Zverev vs Dominic Thiem Prediction & Betting Tips - ATP Mutua Madrid Open

It's been a big week for Aexander Zverev and he hopes it isn't over yet. He takes on Dominic Thiem in the semi-final of the Madrid Open, a day after being Rafael Nadal. The German is ranked sixth in the world and that was his third win over Nadal. His win saw him drop just eight games against the world number two as he won the quarter final in straight sets. The victory over Nadal followed another good win against Dan Evans who has been in impressive form on clay this year. Zverev is chasing his second title of the year after beating Stefanos Tsitsipas in the Acapulco final. This is his third clay court tournament of the season and he's been getting better results as they have gone by. He made it to the last 16 in Monte Carlo and then the quarter finals in Munich. His record against Thiem is not an inspiring one. Thiem has won eight of their previous ten meetings including the last four.

Thiem leads Zverev 4-1 in matches played on clay but his form this year has not been good. Before this week he'd played nine matches this year and had a 5-4 record. In four tournaments (three singles and the ATP Cup), he'd only reached one quarter final. That was in Doha where he beat Aslan Karatsev in three sets before losing to Roberto Bautista Agut. A first round loss to Lloyd Harris followed in Dubai in mid-March and he hadn't been seen since until this tournament. Wins have come against Marcos Garon, Alex de Minaur (both in straight sets) and then a three-set quarter final win over John Isner. The jury is still out on how well he's playing, bet on Zverev to get the win.
