Alexander Zverev vs Dominic Thiem Prediction & Betting Tips - ATP US Open

A new US Open men's singles champion will be crowned on Sunday. Dominic Thiem takes on Alexander Zverev and neither have won a Grand Slam singles title in the past. Thiem is the second seed for this tournament and is taking part in his second consecutive Grand Slam singles final. It's his fourth Grand Slam final, half of which have been at the French Open. Now that he's made the finals in Australia and the USA this year, the days of him just being regarded as a player who does great on clay seem to be over. The semi-final saw him get past Daniil Medvedev in straight sets, the final two both being won via tie-breaks. He has only dropped one set in this tournament, that was in the third round when losing the third set to Marin Cilic. 

Fifth seeded Alexander Zverev has been ranked as high as third in the world but this is an historic match for the German. Zverev has never before reached the final of a Grand Slam men's singles event. He'd never even made it past the fourth round in this event but has finally produced the goods in New York. He wasn't expecting to make the final when he went two sets down to Pablo Carreno Busta in the semi-final. He only won five games in those two sets and was heading for the exit door. However, he finally found his game and went on to win the next three sets to set up this match with Thiem. Winning that maiden title isn't going to be easy at all though and Thiem can be backed to win this match.
