Alexander Zverev vs Daniil Medvedev Prediction & Betting Tips - ATP Beijing Open

World number three Daniil Medvedev will take on 10th-ranked Alexander Zverev in the semi-final of the ATP Beijing Open on Tuesday. The winner of this battle of the heavyweights will move on to face either Carlos Alcaraz or Jannik Sinner in the final. These two are well-acquainted, having met 16 times in the past. Medvedev leads the head-to-head standings 9-7. Three of those wins were on the hard court, four were indoors, and two came on the dirt. In addition, they have already faced each other four times this season, and the Russian leads 3-1. Of those three wins, Medvedev claimed two victories on the clay and one on the hard surface at Indian Wells. The number two seed had an excellent run at the US Open, which included beating Carlos Alcaraz in the semi-final. His only loss in the last ten matches came in the US Open final against Novak Djokovic. Medvedev has already beaten Tommy Paul, Alex de Minaur, and Ugo Humbert here in China and only dropped one set in that time. His record now reads as 49-21 and 22-10 on this surface. 

Indeed, Medvedev has only lost three matches since returning to the hard surface after Wimbledon, and one of those was against Alexander Zverev. The Gernam knocked the Russian out in the second round at the Cincinnati Masters and went on to reach the semi-final. He was then knocked out by none other than Novak Djokovic. However, Zverev followed that up very well, reaching the quarter-final of the US Open and going on to win in the Chengdu Open ahead of this tournament. That was also his first hard-court title this season. The 26-year-old has beaten Diego Schwartzman, Alejandro Davidovich Fokina, and Nicolas Jarry in the previous rounds here in China. Notably, all three matches went to a third set. As a result, it will be interesting to see if fatigue becomes a factor if this match goes to a third set as well.
