Fifth seed Alexander Zverev will seek a fourth successive victory over the unseeded Cameron Norrie on Wednesday in Vienna. The winner of this second-round tie will then play the winner of the match between Andrey Rublev and Matteo Arnaldi. Alexander Zverev has taken control of this series with Norrie after winning the last three meetings. He will hope for another victory in what is the sixth meeting between the two. Zverev, who won the title here in 2021, overcame the challenge of the wildcard Sebastian Ofner in the first round. He won in straight sets to get back to winning ways after three successive defeats. The world number 10 has compiled an excellent 50-24 record and is seeking to qualify for the year-end ATP Finals. He is currently ranked seventh in the ATP race.

Cameron Norrie has had a turbulent season and isn’t in contention for a place in Turin to conclude the year. He has compiled a decent 36-23 record and is ranked 18th in the world. Norrie has lost seven times in his last 10 matches. He ended a run of four successive defeats by defeating the qualifier Filip Misolic in three sets in the first round. Norrie has never progressed past this round in Vienna. He has been eliminated in the second round in the last two editions. The Brit has lost two of the three matches he has played on indoor hard courts so far this year.
