Sixth seed Alexander Bublik is pencilled to start his Adelaide International campaign against unseeded Miomir Kecmanovic. They will face off in the first round with the winner playing Arthur Rinderknech or Chris O’Connell for a place in the quarter-finals. Below is our prediction for this match.

Alexander Bublik is making his season debut. Last year, he reached the semi-finals in Adelaide and will be targeting another strong showing to start his campaign.

The Kazakh had an up-and-down 2024 season and finished with a 25-25 record. He won the title in Montpellier and also made the final in Dubai.

Bublik suffered a combined 15 defeats in the opening two rounds of an event. Currently placed 33rd in the ATP, the 27-year-old finished his year with 10 losses in his final 12 fixtures.

Miomir Kecmanovic won the last two times he faced off with Bublik. Both wins were on clay with the more recent success coming three years ago at Roland Garros.

With the positive run in this fixture, he will be confident of starting his Adelaide campaign with a win. Kecmanovic has already been active this season.

He has played twice thus far after starting things off in Hong Kong. The Serb, who is placed 55th in the live ranking, won his opening tie in straight sets. He, however, lost in his next hurdle to eventual Hong Kong finalist Alexandre Muller in three sets.
