The headline event at UFC 303 will be a rematch between Alex Pereira and Jiri Prochazka for the light heavyweight title. Pereira enters the bout with a record of 10-2-0, while Prochazka’s record stands at 30-4-1.

After Conor McGregor was forced to relinquish the title due to injury, these two went toe-to-toe to earn the UFC’s light heavyweight title and it was Pereira who emerged victorious. Since then, the Brazilian has defended his belt, beating another former champion Jamahal Hill at UFC 300. Pereira has now won each of his last three fights and is known for his raw strength which we saw when he knocked out Jamahal Hill in the first round in April.  "Stone Hands” has had a total of eight fights since joining the UFC and has won seven of those, three of which were title fights. His only loss to date was against Israel Adesanya in their second meeting. Both fighters weigh in at 93kg, with Pereira holding the height advantage at 1.93 compared to Prochazka at 1.91, while the Czech has the reach advantage with a wingspan of 203.2 cm versus the Brazilan’s 200.7cm. 

Prochazka, on the other hand, is looking to avenge his defeat to Periera back in November when he was shut down by the Brazilian in round two. However, Prochazka has remained adamant that the match should not have been called off and has been champing at the bit for a rematch, which he now has. The Czech is also a former champion, having won the title at UFC 275 when he beat Glover Teixeira, but he was forced to vacate the title due to an injury without having the chance to defend it even once. With a background in kickboxing, karate and muay Thai, Prochazka is known for his unorthodox techniques, unpredictable striking and swift footwork, which he will need to combine to overcome the Brazilian in this one. The challenger enters this bout as the underdog at the books.
