Alex Michelsen vs Jaume Munar Prediction & Betting Tips - ATP Indian Wells

Two unseeded players meet in the first round of the ATP Masters 1000 Indian Wells tournament. Awaiting the winner in round two of this outdoor hard court event is the 17th seed Tommy Paul. Michelsen is at 80th in the latest ranking list and that's seven places below the career high he achieved in January of this year. The promising US player has won six and lost the same number of matches on the ATP Tour this year. In the Australian Open, he made it to the last 32 after beating James McCabe and Jiri Lehecka but then lost  to sixth seeded Alexander Zverev. He comes to Indian Wells in good form after a run to the last eight in the hard court event held in Los Cabos last week. That included an impressive straight sets win over Alex de Minaur who is currently ranked 10th in the world. 

Jaume Munar is ranked 75th but has been as high as 52nd five years ago. The Spaniard reached the third round of this tournament two years ago but made a first round exit last year. Munar has shown his best form on clay this season. Last week saw him get to the last eight in Santiago where he was beaten by eventual champion Sebastian Baez. That was his second clay court quarter final of the year, also achieving the feat in Cordoba. On hard courts the results haven't been so impressive and began the year by failing to qualify for the main draws in both Hong Kong and Auckland. The second round of the Australian Open was reached but he arrives in Indian Wells having won only two of his six hard court matches this year.. We tip Michelsen to get the win in straight sets.
