Alex de Minaur is the 11th seed at Roland Garros and had an impressive first round win. He now takes on unseeded Jaume Munar for a place in the third round of this outdoor clay court Grand Slam. Whoever wins this match will play either 19th seed Alexander Bublik or unseeded Jan-Lennard Struff in the third round. De Minaur only dropped three games when beating Alex Michelsen in the first round, we expect this to be a lot tougher against Munar. The Australian will be in the third round at Roland Garros for the first time if he wins this match. The world number 11 (eighth in the Live ATP Race) has shown some good form on clay this year. The quarter-finals were reached in Monte Carlo and he made last 16 appearances in Barcelona and the Italian Open in Rome.

To reach round three at Roland Garros, Jaume Munar must beat Alex de Minaur for the first time. There have been two previous meetings between the pair and de Minaur won them both. Most significantly, de Minaur beat Munar in the 2021 Madrid Masters clay tournament.  Munar is 64th in the latest rankings and up to 59th after his first round win. He beat compatriot Roberto Bautista Agut in four sets (losing the second) to reach round two for the fourth time. He's never managed to get past this stage. This season on clay began well for him with quarter-finals in Cordoba and Rio. In Europe it's not gone so well on the ATP Tour with only four wins in ten matches. He did get to the final of the Aix-en-Provence Challenger Tour event and will hope to repeat that kind of form in this match. We tip Alex de Minaur to win this match.
