Alex De Minaur vs David Goffin Prediction & Betting Tips - ATP Rotterdam

Fifth seeded Alex de Minaur bids to reach the quarter finals of the ABN AMRO Open in Rotterdam. To get to the last eight, he needs to beat unseeded David Goffin. The winner of this match will face either second seed Andrey Rublev or unseeded Felix Auger-Aliassime. De Minaur  started this tournament ranked 11th but is down one place at 12th in the live rankings. That's because he is defending the points earned last year when reaching the quarter finals of this ATP 500 indoor hard court event. The Australian is seventh in the Live ATP Race after reaching the last 16 of the Australian Open (where he lost to possible quarter final opponent Andrey Rublev) and winning three matches in the United Cup. This is only his second singles tournament of 2024 and in the first round he beat unseeded Sebastian Korda in straight sets, losing onl seven games. He's won all four of his previous matches against Goffin with two being on indoor hard courts.

David Goffin was once as high as seventh in the world rankings. That was in late 2017 and he's slipped down the rankings in recent years. At the commencement of this tournament he was down at 133rd in the lrankings but is now up to 110th. He's had to win three matches to get to this second round. That's because his low ranking meant he had to win two qualifying matches just to get into the main draw. That was achieved without losing a set and in round one he beat qualifier Dino Prizmic but had to go to a final set to do so, losing the second on a tie-break. His best performance this year has been a quarter final in a Challenger Tour event in Australia.  We tip de Minaur to win in straight sets.
