Alex De Minaur vs Casper Ruud Prediction & Betting Tips - ATP Acapulco Open

Third seed Alex de Minaur has the chance to defend his Mexican Open title, when he takes on Casper Ruud in the final. De Minaur had a much easier pass to the final after his opponent in the semis, Jack Draper retired with injury. The Australian had a strong start against Draper, winning the opening set 6-3. He however had a dip in the second set, and debutant Draper dug in to win 6-2. De Minaur resumed for the third set energized and while well composed, Draper fell off, before eventually retiring. The Australian now has the chance to add to his Acapulco title won last year. That was his only title of four finals played last season. It remains the most recent of his seven ATP titles. A great season so far has De Minaur on 13 wins in the 17 matches he has played. This will be the second final for him this season after the Rotterdam one in February.

Casper Ruud pulled off a shocker in the other semi final, recovering from losing the first set to beat Holger Rune. Going into the game as the underdog, Ruud suffered a 6-3 loss to the world number seven in the first set. He however rose back to win 6-3, 6-4 to beat the second seed and will be gunning for another upset here. This will be Ruud’s second straight tour final and he will want to ride on the momentum against another top opponent. In his last competition, Los Cabos open, Ruud fell to another Australian, Jordan Thompson in the final. So far this season, he has managed 13 wins in 15 matches. This will be the third time Ruud meets De Minaur and he will hope to go ahead in their head to head record which stands at 1-1. Ruud lost in the only meeting between the two on a hardcourt, in 2019.
