Unseeded Alex de Minaur is up against Alejandro Davidovich-Fokina in the second round at Queen's Club.  The Australian may be unseeded for this tournament but he reached the semi-final last year and then went on to win the Eastbourne title. His liking of this tournament has already been shown this week. He defeated eighth seed Reilly Opelka in straight sets in the first round. Another good run in this tournament looks likely as he'll be facing unseeded oppositon in the last eight if winning this match. He began this week ranked 21st but has all those points from last year to defend so is only 24th in the live rankings. His 2022 grass court season didn't get off to a great start with a loss to Adrian Mannarino in the Netherlands last week. He's reached two semi-finals this year but the first round win at Queen's Club over Opelka ended a run of three successive defeats, though two were on clay.

Alejando Davidovich-Fokina began this week ranked 44th but is up to 37th in the live rankings. It looks touch and go whether he might squeeze into the seedings for Wimbledon. He's never made it to a grass court final and his best performance at Wimbledon is the first round having twice failed to make it through the qualifiers. His form coming into his first grass court tournament of the year wasn't good with only one win in four matches. His best performance this year came on clay in Monte Carlo, where he lost to Stefanos Tsitsipas in the final after earlier beating Novak Djokovic. He defeated fellow Spaniard Albert Ramos Vinolas in straight sets in the first round of this tournament. Up against a grass court specialist though, he's likely to struggle.
