Vukic got back to winning ways less than a week ago as he made his indoor debut. The Australian, who has had a nervy start to the year, won his sole fixture at the Davis Cup by straight sets. That was his fourth win in seven outings.

Vukic is a strong indoor hardcourt performer and in his career has won over 50 matches on such surfaces. The 28-year-old appeared in Dallas for the first time in 2023 but was unable to make it out of the qualifying rounds.

He enters this match placing 65th in the live ranking.

Shelton earned a semi-final finish on his Dallas debut last season. On his return, he will hope to become the fourth player to triumph in this event.

Shelton has had a strong start to the campaign. He has won five of seven matches, with the highlight of his season being a run to the semi-finals at the Australian Open.

Currently placed 14th in the live ranking, Shelton hasn’t taken to the court since losing in straight sets to eventual Melbourne champion Jannik Sinner.

He defeated Vukic to lift the Champaign Challenger three years ago.
