Aleksandar Kovacevic vs Arthur Rinderknech Prediction & Betting Tips - ATP Newport Open

Aleksandar Kovacevic beat Harold Mayot in round one in Newport and now faces the seventh seed Arthur Rinderknech. The winner goes into the quarter-finals against either third seed Alex Michelsen or unseeded Maxime Cressy.

This is a grass court tournament and Kovacevic had lost all three of his matches on this surface in the past month. He'd also been struggling on clay and the win over Mayot was his first since April. That also came in America in the US clay court championship.

Kovacevic was 91st in the latest rankings and that's 25 places below that of his opponent Arthur Rinderknech. The Frenchman is up to 62nd after his first round win. He beat unseeded Shinto Mochizuki in straight sets.

It was his first match since losing to Taylor Fritz in round two at Wimbledon. If he does face Alex Michelsen in the next round, he might fancy his chances as he beat the American on grass in Stuttgart in straight sets in June. 

A win here will take him into his first ATP Tour quarter-final since May. He got to the last eight of the Lyon clay court tournament but had to withdraw from his match due to injury. That was his second ATP quarter-final of the year.

He has won one tournament this year, that was a hard court event on the Challenger Tour. This is the first match between these two players and we go for Rinderknech to win the match.
