Aleksandar Kovacevic, the second seed in the qualifying rounds at the Mexican Open, will battle against seventh seed Adam Walton next. The winner here will book a ticket for the main draw. Below is our prediction for this match.

Aleksandar Kovacevic has returned to Acapulco for a second successive season. He debuted here last year and progressed to the main draw via the qualifiers.

The American will be confident of another main draw appearance in this ATP 500 event. This is because he has been in great form in 2025. Kovacevic has compiled a 14-5 record and has a runner-up finish in Montpellier as a qualifier as his highlight of the campaign.

Currently placed 85th in the live ranking, Kovacevic battled through three sets to oust Alan Magadan in the first round.

Adam Walton was in great form in his first-round tie, defeating Adrian Mannarino by the loss of just four games. Though he hasn’t had exciting performances at tour level like Kovacevic, Walton has been in great form in the challenger circuit.

The Australian has won 11 of 16 matches this season and won one challenger title in Brisbane. At tour level though, he has exited all four tournaments he has participated in without winning a main draw tie.

Walton has dropped seven places to 97th after losing 38 ranking points.
