Alejandro Tabilo vs Zizou Bergs Prediction & Betting Tips - ATP French Open

At the start of 2024, Alejandro Tabilo probably didn't expect to be seeded at Roland Garros. He's never managed to get through qualifying before. After an impressive year to date, he's the 24th seed and faces qualifier Zizou Bergs in round one. Up next for the winner is a match against either Jordan Thompson or Maximilian Marterer, both of whom are unseeded. At the start of this year, Tabilo was ranked 82nd but has been steadily climbing the rankings in 2024. He won a hard court tournament in Auckland and on the South American clay court swing, got to the final in Santiago. His form dipped a bit but he got back on track with a run to the last four of the Bucharest clay court event. A clay court Challenger Tour event in Aix-en-Provence was won last month and then he got to the semi-finals of the Italian Open where he had wins over Novak Djokovic and Karen Khachanov. He's currently 14th in the ATP Live Race. 

Zizou Bergs is at 104th in the live rankings but 52nd in the ATP Race. He had to win three qualifying matches to reach this first round, dropping only one set. The Belgian had previously twice failed to qualify for this Grand Slam. This is fourth time in a Grand Slam event main draw but he's yet to win a match. This year has seen him have some success on the Challenger Tour with back-to-back titles on clay in Sarasota and Tallahassee. However, he's not done so well on the main ATP Tour. The last 16 of the US clay court championships were reached but he's lost his last three main draw matches on clay. We tip Tabilo to win this match.
