Alejandro Tabilo vs Luciano Darderi Prediction & Betting Tips - ATP Cincinnati Open

Alejandro Tabilo is 21st in the live rankings but unseeded for the Cincinnati Masters. In the first round of this hard court tournament he meets fellow unseeded player Luciano Darderi. Who will go into the second round? Read on for our match prediction.

It's been a big year for Tabilo who was ranked outside the top 100 when 2024 began. The first six months of the new year saw him in excellent form with two ATP Tour events won and a title on the Challenger Tour as well.

One of those titles came on the hard courts of Auckland in New Zealand. His form has slipped a bit of late though with three successive losses before making a return to hard courts in Montreal last week. He played better there and reached round three before losing to Jannik Sinner.

He's 15th in the ATP Live Race so will be out to earn more points to boost his hopes of reaching the Tour Finals. The winner of this match will face either tenth seed Tommy Paul or unseeded Flavio Cobolli in round two.

Luciano Darderi has played his opponent three times in the past. He trails 2-1 but all three of those matches were played on clay. The last meeting was in Santiago this year with Tabilo winning in straight sets and not losing a game in the opening set.

Darderi is at 33rd in the live rankings (one place below his career high) so is in with a chance of securing a seeding at the upcoming US Open. His most recent tournament was also in Montreal but he lost in round one to Tommy Paul.

That was his second successive loss and the other was in the Olympics and again inflicted by Paul, who he could meet again if beating Tabilo.  The Italian spends most of his time playing on clay and this is only his fourth hard court tournament of the year and he's still waiting for his first victory.
