Cameron Norrie is seeded second in the ASB Classic and takes on qualifier Alejandro Tabilo in the quarter finals. For the winner there's a semi-final against either sixth seed Arthur Fils or unseeded Daniel Altmaier. Norrie may represent Great Britain but was born in South Africa and represented New Zealand after moving there. Winning a title in New Zealand would mean a great deal to him therefore and he's twice been the beaten finalist in this tournament. Norrie was ranked 19th at the start of this tournament but is down to 22nd in the live rankings. That's because he's defending the points earned when losing in last year's Auckland final. His year began playing for Great Britain in the United Cup beating Alex de Minaur but losing to Taylor Fritz. In Auckland, he's beaten qualifier Luca Van Assche but needed three sets to do so.

Alejandro Tabilo is up to 72nd in the live world rankings after making it to this quarter final. This is his first tournament of the year and the Chilean had to play two qualifying rounds to get into the main draw. Both of his matches were won without him dropping a set. It didn't start well for him in round one as he lost the first set to unseeded Borna Gojo, winning just one game. He recovered well though and only dropped five games in the remaining two sets. Round two went a bit smoother as he beat Botic van de Zandschulp in straight sets. We tip Norrie to win this quarter final.
