Alejandro Davidovich Fokina vs Stefanos Tsitsipas Prediction & Betting Tips - ATP Monte Carlo Masters

Stefanos Tsitsipas bids to retain the Monte Carlo Masters title.  He takes on the unseeded Alejandro Davidovich-Fokina who has had a great week in Monaco. A win for Tsitsipas (who is Greek but lives in Monte Carlo) will make him only the third player this century to retain this title. One of the others being Rafa Nadal (absent this week) and the not so well known Juan Carlos Ferrera. Tsitsipas also reached the French Open final ln 2021 and is already proving himself to be a threat on clay this year. Tsitsipas has only dropped one set on his way to this final. That was in his quarter final match against Diego Schwartzmann. He dominated his semi-final against Alexander Zverev, winning in straight sets and only dropping six games. Two of his matches have had over 22.5 games played in them. He beat Laslo Djere in straight sets but that match has 25 games. Tstitsipas has had two previous matches against his opponent in this final. He's won them both but the most recent one in Rotterdam this year went to three sets. The other match was here last year with Tsitsipas winning the first set 7-5 before Davidovich-Fokina retired.

Hopefully that won't happen this year as it's been a great week for Davidovich-Fokina. He began the week ranked 46th but has gone up 19 places in the live rankings. A win over Tsitsipas will see him rise to 20th place. He obviously likes Monte Carlo having reached the last eight in 2021 before that retirement. This week has seen him get some notable victories on his way to this final. Those include Novak Djokovic, David Goffin and Taylor Fritz. So that's the world number one and two recent tournament winners beaten. The semi-finals saw him beat unseeded Grigor Dimitrov in three sets. Three of his matches this week have had over 22.5 games played in them. He's unlikely to win this final but a bet on over 22.5 games being played looks a winning one.
