Following his first title of the year, the Dane has seen his rank rise to 7th in the world and is relishing his time on the clay court this year, posting a record of 8-1 on this surface so far. Rune was given a scare in his first match against Alexander Bublik, with the Kazakh forcing the match to a final set which ended (6-1 4-6 7-6). The Dane will be taking on this opponent for the first time and will need to address the number of unforced errors he had in the first match, or he may find himself making a premature exit in this one.
