Albert Ramos Vinolas vs Miomir Kecmanovic Prediction & Betting Tips - ATP Swiss Open Gstaad
by Steve Ashfield | in Tennis Predictions
Only two seeds remain in the clay court Swiss Open. One of those is second seeded Miomir Kecmanovic and he takes on unseeded Albert Ramos Vinolas for a place in the final. The only other remaining seed is fourth seeded Yannik Hanfmann. Kecmanovic was the world number 44 when this tournament began. That was 16 places below his career high ranking achieved in January of this year. One final has been reached in Delray Beach but that was a hard court event. On clay he also got to a title decider, losing the Estoril final to Casper Ruud. A semi-final was reached in Banja Luka but he failed to make an impact in other clay tournaments including Roland Garros. This week has seen him beat Dominic Stricker in straight sets but he had to go to three to defeat qualifier Zizou Bergs. Those wins have taken him up to 40th in the live rankings. Making it into the final will take him up to 37th.
Albert Ramos Vinolas was 79th at the start of this Swiss Open. That's well below his career high of 17th but that was six years ago. The Spaniard has struggled this year and had only won six out of 25 ATP Tour matches before this tournament. Vinolas is one of those players glad to be back playing on their preferred clay. He lost both of the matches he played during the clay court season. On clay, the 35-year-old is a former Roland Garros quarter finalist (seven years ago) but hasn't got past the second round there on his last four visits. This year has seen him get to the last four of the Cordoba clay court tournament and the quarter finals in Rio. Eight out of ten matches on clay were lost before he got to the last eight of a Challenger Tour event in Bordeaux and also reached that stage in Parma. His inconistent run continued with a loss to Luciano Darderi in Italy, his opponent being ranked 228th at the time. This week has gone better for the Spaniard but all three of his matches have gone to a final set. He beat third seeded Lorenzo Sonego in round two but we go for Kecmanovic to end his run.
