The PBA Governors’ Cup sees the third place Alaska Aces hosting fourth place NLEX Road Warriors in an important matchup for playoff positioning. The Aces have a record of five wins and two losses and have won their last three consecutive games. Their last match was a thrilling 102-97 comeback victory over Terrafirma Dyip - a  match in which the Aces trailed by 17 points coming into the fourth quarter. The visitors are coming off a win of their own, snapping their three game losing skid by defeating bottom place Blackwater Bossing 117-97 in a match which the Road Warriors controlled from the start. NLEX have a record of five wins and three losses. After recently announcing that this season will be the Alaska Aces’ last in the PBA, the team is surely hoping to go out with a bang with a Governors’ Cup title. 

This will be a sturdy test for the hosts, as the Road Warriors have a player capable of single handedly carrying his team to victory in former NBA product KJ McDaniels. The 6’6 forward has been absolutely lethal this season, averaging 30.8 points - second most in the league, while grabbing 11.6 rebounds and dishing out 3.6 assists per game. McDaniels is not just an offensive threat though, as this dangerous two-way player leads the league in blocks with 2.8 per game and contributes 1.5 steals per game as well. The Road Warriors coming off a road win will be a good momentum builder for this team and they have been impressive away from home this season with a record of three wins and only one loss. This should be a fascinating clash between the highest scoring team in the league in the Road Warriors against the league’s best defensive team in the Aces.
